Today we talked about how we’re living in the Golden Age of TV, I told an embarrassing story about the Abbott and Costello sketch, “Who’s on First?” and I admitted that I don’t really like Game of Thrones. Counting down some of the shows that you thought pushed the limits of TV are:
5. The Sopranos
2. Mad Men
1. Breaking Bad
When Mike first pitched, “The Golden Age of Television. Favorite Shows, Unique Channels, Pushing the Envelope, you tell me!” I was hesitant because I didn’t know what he meant about unique channels. However after talking about it I realized that he meant channels like the CW who went from mostly teen angst shows about vampires to mostly DC Comics shows in the last five years.
I compared the Golden Age of TV to the Golden Age of Comedy which reminded me about the time that my brother and I did the Abbott and Costello sketch, “Who’s on First?” at our school’s talent show and my brother was so nervous that he never looked up. To be fair I was around ten and he was seven.
The video has that story and a lot more. Thank you all for all the questions! Tweet at me if you want to continue the conversation or you have ideas for tomorrow’s episode!
